Cup deposits Beta

# Cup back, money back.

Deposits on cups and bottles run through the order itself. When a guest brings them back, the amount goes back onto the guest’s own payment or out of the till in cash.

## Deposits that add up, from the bar to the books.

A cup costs a deposit when it crosses the bar and earns it back when it returns. Orderli keeps both sides in the same orders and payments.

### Deposits right in the order

You put the deposit on the menu as an article of its own or, depending on your POS, as an option on the drink. The team rings up empty cups as a return; if the guest orders a new round straight away, only the difference is paid.

#### Back on the payment, or in cash

When an order drops below zero, the team chooses how the deposit goes back. To refund, you find the earlier order by name, phone number or pickup code and show it to the guest; cash refunds are switched on per location.

### Every return on record

A return is its own transaction in the dashboard, with the refund or the cash payout next to it. From the original order you click through to the return, and back again.

#### Never more back than was paid

Never more goes back than is still left on the order, and only on orders that were not paid in cash. A manager first allows the tablet to issue refunds; in a food hall, each stand only refunds its own share.

## Common questions

How do I add a deposit to the menu?

As an item of its own or, depending on your POS, as an option on the drink. The feature is new and still in beta.

How does the guest get their deposit back?

The team chooses per return: back onto the original payment or in cash from the till. Cash refunds are switched on per location.

Can more be refunded than was paid?

No. Never more goes back than is still open on the order, and a manager first allows the tablet to make refunds.
